Kvaerner Pulp & Paper of Finland's Power

the delignification stage of the pulping process.

Sandwell Inc. of Vancouver
were the appointed engineering consultants to PT Tanjung Enim Lestari,
carrying out feasibility studies to determine the economics, estimated
capital cost and technical features of the proposed mill. PT.TEL were
also able to draw on Sandwell's expertise in civil, structural, pulp
process, environmental, power plant, chemical plant and water treatment
engineering.

Klöckner Industrie-Anlagen GmbH (INA) was acquired
by TESSAG around the completion of the project, to become TESSAG INA.
They acted as EPIC Contractors for the project, together with their
affiliated company, KSH of Canada (now TESSAG KSH).

TESSAG KSH - formerly Klockner
Stadler Hurter Ltd. - was responsible, together with TESSAG INA for
overall technical leadership in the construction of the plant and
was involved in project management, engineering, supply of major equipment,
supervision of installations and start-up plus training of mill operators.

Hansameyer sub-contracted Sarana Penida, their
local partner's based in Jakarta, to handle the road transport side
of the operation, as well as liaison with Palembang Customs and other
local authorities.

Hansameyer Duesseldorf and Singapore were contracted to handle the project's overall freight
transportation requirements. Their considerable experience in this specialised
field enabled all major construction phases to be completed on schedule.

The plant is operated by Tanjung Enim Lestari (PT.
TEL), a subsidiary of the majority shareholder, the Barito Pacific
Group.

supplied specialised equipment for cooking, washing and oxidising
the pulp, as well as the evaporation and lime kiln units.

Sunds Defibrator supplied and installed the debarking, chipping, chip handling and pulp
washing, screening and bleaching systems for the plant. Sunds merged in October 1999 with Valmet Paper
Machinery to form Valmet Fiber and Paper Technology within the Metso Corporation

Andritz AG supplied the press and vacuum equipment for the dewatering section of the mill's drying plant. The web width is 8,050 mm, with a throughput of 1,500 air-dry metric tons per day. At 56 metric tonnes each, the press rolls are the heaviest individual components of the pulp line.
